Windows Driver Package – PrimeSense (psdrv3) PrimeSensor is a Windows device driver that enables PrimeSense-based 3D depth-sensing cameras to operate correctly on compatible PCs. The package installs the psdrv3 kernel driver and related components so Windows can recognize the hardware over USB, manage it through Plug and Play, and provide stable access to its data streams.
Once installed, supported devices can deliver depth, color (RGB), and infrared data to applications via compatible middleware such as OpenNI. The driver integrates with Device Manager (typically under Imaging Devices or Sensors), supports standard power management, and exposes device controls as allowed by the hardware and software stack. Depending on the specific release, both 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows may be supported. For application-level features like skeletal tracking or gesture recognition, separate middleware may be required. A system restart may be needed to complete installation.
